More a comment that a question. Aegidius of Rome, or Egydiusz in Polish, is Giles of Rome in English. Why would English have a totally different name for Aegidius, is it a name that means something?
In the article Via Antiqua (supplement) I came across "egidianizm". I must have been dreaming that I found Egydiusz (but a mispelling in Wikipedia as Edygiusz, under the entry "Idzi".

The English name is probably from French: wikipedia agrees:
Giles is the Medieval English form of the Old French saints' name Gide, an altered form of Latin Aegidius.
It goes on to list some different suggested meanings.
I've never seen him called Egydiusz, only Idzi.
